I teach courses in Communication, Media and Culture at Indiana State University (2011-present). I also direct the Communication 101: Introduction to Public Communication program which serves more than 3,200 students per academic year. I earned my B.A. and M.A. from the University of Arkansas, where my coursework included rhetorical and mythic criticism, film, cultural studies, and video production. Years later I earned my Ph.D. from the University of South Florida. I continued to pursue my interest in rhetorical and cultural studies at USF, however my primary focus was in broadening my experience in qualitative research methods featuring ethnographic approaches to the study of rhetoric and media. I live in Terre Haute, IN with my family of five.
